"Watch out Maria, Your going to slip in the muddy water, and you will get your clothes all dirty" Chiyojo Konoshi said, Maria's mother.

"It can be a good part of training for me, next year when I turn seven, Nagato and I can finally learn to become a ninja!" Maria said, as she playfully splashed Nagato, Maria's cousin who was adopted by his parents.

"Hey! Watch where your splashing your water" Nagato said as he splashed Maria back.

"You guys better get sifting through that mud if you wish to find any diamonds!" Ryu Konoshi said, Maria's father.

Just as he said that, a little more aged Squad 7 walked by about 50 meters away on a path.

"Mom! Its Kakashi and his squad, can Nagato and I follow them? Please!" Maria said. "You guys just love following those squads when they are training, dont'chya?" Chiyojo replied. Ryu came up from behind Chiyojo and put his arm on her shoulder and talked over her, "Go knock yourself out knuckle-heads."

"Yay!" Both Maria and Nagato said as they jumped up in glee. Maria and Nagato wiped their feet of quickly, putting on their sandals and with a low profile chased after Squad 7.

When Nagato and Maria finally came within about a 50 foot distance from them they were panting and hiding behind bushes. Maria was looking above the bush with Nagato. Suddenly Sasuke's head turned back to get a little glance at Maria and Nagato. "#@$!*#" Maria said as she bombed it to the ground behind a bush pulling Nagato with her! "I think Sasuke saw us!" Maria said to Nagato. "Well, we are going to have to find out." Nagato said as he looked up above the bush. Maria hastly said, "THEY ARE GONE!!". Nagato had a doomed facial expression when Maria was dancing on the path infuriated! "Well! Lets just keep going!"

Maria and Nagato were running at full speed through the village, they turned a sharp corner and.... BANG! Squad 7 stopped and Maria and Nagato plowed right into Naruto. Naruto stood there with a weird face as he saw to knocked out six-year olds laying on the ground. "Ahhh, Haha?" Naruto said as he looked at the rest of his group with a fake smile.

Nagato and Maria stood up quickly looked at the group with a suspicous smile. "Why are you in such a hurry?" Kakashi said as he bent down so he was almost face to face with Nagato and Maria.

"Ehhh... Ahhh.... Umm.... We...." Maria said, "WE AREN'T FOLLOWING YOU GUYS TO SEE YOU TRAIN OR ANYTH..." Nagato said as he was interrupted by a hit on the head, "Shut up! Dont give us away!" Maria said quietly to Nagato. Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto and Kakashi seemed to grow over them with fire in their eyes, "Well, what is it!" Sakura's voice rained over them. "Yea, tell us now or ill step on ya!" Naruto said as he walked over towards them, but was stopped by Sasuke's arm.

Nagato and Maria held eachother in fear as if they were a small prey. "WE WERE JUST TRYING.... TO... Ahh, find a bathroom!" Maria said, "Ahh, yea bathroom. We really have to go pee!!" Nagato said with a fake comercial laugh.

"Well, thats good enough" Kakashi said with a happy face. He turned is gennin and continued on their route.

"You are a jee-nee-us!(genius)" Nagato said, "I told you I can do anything! Tehe!" Maria said. They continued after the squad and occasionally tried to blend in with the crowd as the squad would look back.

"We are still being followed" Sasuke said, "I know" Kakashi replied.

"Man, how far are they going to walk?" Maria said, "Well, their ninja, they want their training to be ultra-top secret." Nagato replied. "Its been a half an hour! And still! They are walking." Maria said in a grumpy tone.

"Come! They are turning the right corner." Nagato said, "Wait... I saw Naruto and Sasuke walk to the left! They are splitting up, Nagato follow Sakura and Kakashi, I will follow the two guys." Maria said with a smirk as she darted off after Sasuke and Naruto. "Why would we split up! how are we... Im talking to myself..." Nagato said, alone.

Maria was walking behind Sasuke and Naruto, she was on them like she was a predator stalking its prey. Suddenly she ran into a man holding a glass of wine. The wine splashed all over her, but she was able to dodge out of the way, letting it soak her side. When she stood there the crows awed and created a scene. Naruto and Sasuke both were starting to look back. "Oh no! They are looking back, gotta think fast!" Maria said in her mind. Maria glanced for a split second , then took a nearby sari and drapped it over her head. She moved out of the way and looked down at the puddle, she started throwing her hands up and down as if she were a startled tourist. Although people were still looking at her, Sasuke and Naruto were (supposidly) tricked and continued on their path.

"Hmph! Some tourist spilt their drink." Naruto said laughing towards Sasuke. Sasuke didn't respond, so Naruto eased his laughing looking frusterated at Sasuke.

Finally the four ninja's were together again. "How come they did that?" Maria asked towards Nagato, "I dont know..." "Well of course you dont know, you dont know anything!" Maria threw at Nagato. They were again in the open, they left the cramped city area. Nagato and Maria were in panic at the strange behavior.

Squad 7 was so elegant, how they all mirrored eachothers moves. Kakashi and Naruto stopped moving, while Sasuke and Sakura did a back flip behind Maria and Nagato. The intense feeling of fear came as it dripped down the two childrens spines. Kakashi and Naruto turned around, "Well well well. Looks like we have some 'spies'." Kakashi said as he had a weak laugh afterwards. The two seemed to move in on the two as everything blanked out.

When Maria finally awoke she saw that she was hanging from her pants on the end of a statue. The statue was of the first hokage holding out his two hands, and my the two hands where hanging Nagato and Maria. Nagato was hung by his polka-dot underwear, while Maria was hung by her pink underwear.

Maria hit Nagato to wake him up, he suddenly replied with "Hey! I was sleeping!". "Are you that stupid! They hung us by our underwear!" Maria said infuriated while she scobbled around hoping to break free. Kakashi walked up in fron of the statue. "Well Well, how do you like it up there?" Kakashi said at the two children who were about twice his height into the air. "Oh I otta!" Nagato said as he joined Maria in squirming around. The two kids were like little mice trapped under Kakashi's foot.

It was late, and everyone walked by laughing at the two kids. Maria began hearing a tearing sound, "Uh Oh". She managed to look back to see her underwear ripping, "NO!" she said as she broke lose from the rock hokage's hands. Maria fell for nearly a split-second and grabbed unto Nagato's legs. Now, there was another tearing sound that accompanied the scared laugh. Nagato's underwear. "Oh dear" they both said as they both fell from the statue into the water below.

"Puff pwua!" Maria said drenched. "At least we didn't fall into lava" Nagato replied". "Your so stupid!" Maria said as she wacked Nagato upside the head, "Ow". Maria began walking home, but Nagato stood still looking strangly at Maria. "Ur-Anus is showing" Nagato laughed. He stood there and looked at his back to see that also his butt was sticking out. "Ahh man!" Maria said. Maria and Nagato scurried together and walked back-to-back to cover up their bottoms all the way home.

~~~~~~~Driven Off~~~~~~~~

It was about 20 days later from the most recent event. Maria and her parents were outside sitting on their porch.

"Mom, what... What are you doing?" Maria asked at the sight of her mom with a bag which startled sleeping Nagato. Ryu walked out holding another bag. "Maria you must understand, its for your own safety!"

"Wha... What are you talking about?" Maria said shaking with fear". "Somone is coming! We must hurry, I dont not want you to g..." Chiyojo said as she was interrupted by an incoming shruiken. There were 7 Rouge Ninja who were surrounding the porch that they were on. "Nagato, Maria, stand back!" Ryu said hastly as he swept Nagato and Maria behind them into the corner.

Chiyojo used her water manipulation powers to suck water out from the ground and use it as a whip to snap at the intruders. Ryu went hand-to-hand combat knocking down two of them until he was tackled to the ground. Chiyojo fled to help him by blasting the ninja with water. Ryu and Chiyojo had no choice, the Missing Ninja seemed to be left unscathed. "It is time, we must do it to save Nagato and Maria" Ryu said sadly to Chiyojo, "I guess this is the end" Chiyojo said in return as she joined hands with Ryu. "The Naimi clan will DIE!" one of the ninjas yelled at Chiyojo, "As soon as we kill you, we will kill a descendant from the Naimi clan, your precious daughter!".

"No!' Chiyojo said softly as her and Ryu's hair began to lift up into the air. Chakra began pouring out heavily, and finally a huge explosion occured. tearing the houses into shreds, Nagato and Maria were thrown for a distance and were split-apart from eachother. Ryu and Chiyojo were surrounded in a huge sphere of swirling red Kamen chakra, and Naimi chakra water, which ripped apart the Missing Ninja's.

The great explosion finally died out, and ultimately boiled away. Chiyojo and Ryu were exhausted from this attack. And fled far away in fear that more might return, which no more came.

Maria was left alone, laying in the muddy grass. It began raining, Chiyojo's Naimi water now began falling from the sky. Maria just layed there, half dead. Her arm was torn to shread, and she had a large plank that impaled her foot. She did not know where Nagato was, and she couldn't think straight.

Maria seemed to be lost in a huge swirling black abyss, traveling through oblivion. Sadness wept across her face, as she cried in frusteration. "When you regain your strength, and your life has been fulfilled, Find me. The Naimi waters." Her mothers soft voice rang in her head.

Maria's vision began to blur as she looked up at the dark rainy sky, the droplets of water seemed to south her bloody wounds. Before she passed out she saw a broad figure of a somewhat familar man standing over her. "Nagat...." she managed to whisper before she fell into darkness.

"Iruka, did you hear what happened?" Sarutobi the hokage said. "Not much, all I heard is that missing ninja attacked". "The Konoshi family were attacked, along with the adopted close relative, Nagato Fujibyashi.

"Ryu Konoshi, was originally Ryu Kamen. He took the last name of his wife, Chiyojo Konoshi of of the last of the Naimi Clan. The young girl, Maria Konoshi is both a Kamen and a descendent of the Naimi. In otherwords, she can still use her Kamen clan jutsu type, while still being able to manipulate water." Sarutobi said.

"I once fought with Chiyojo long ago, when she was condemned with the Darkness' bind. She was very strong, yet she lost and was redempt. Chiyojo was very dangerous, and I fear that Maria has that blackness tainted within her also." Sarutobi said

Sarutobi gets up from his chair and walks a nearby window, and gazes out of it.

"Both Nagato and Maria suffered from terrible wounds, they will need to be treated."

Maria woke up, he vision was blurred and all she could see was brightness shining in her eyes.

"A..Am I dead?' she whispered softly, a familiar voice yelled very loudly. "Nope!" Nagato said while he was sitting on her bed. It made her feel so very relieved to see Nagato still alive. Every morning they 'speed walk' to the cafeteria to get a good breakfast. Maria thinks the food is very great and is starting to like it here.

Maria was in the hospital, the one that neighboors the Hokages building.

Every Monday a Jounin would come in to give them a shot. "What are these shots for?" Maria asked as she jumped a little when the needles pierced her skin. "We are giving you these injections to help prevent your wounds from becoming infected, and it also kills infections that may all ready be inside your wounds."

Maria reached down to scratch her abrased leg but the Jounin stopped her. "You dont want to scratch your wounds, or else it wont heal."

Maria crossed her arms stubbornly as she layed her head back into the pillow. "Its so boring sitting here in bed all day! I feel fine!" Maria said, but the Jounin shook his head as he touched her hand then walked out of the room.

In the room nearby she could hear the comotion between Nagato and the Jounin trying to give him his shot.

Maria reached to the side of her bed to pull out a book, titled 'Famous Entrina Ninja, The Tale of the Seven Priests'. Maria read the book for a short time until she became very weary then dosed off into sleep.

-two weeks later-

Maria was once agian up on her feet and walking again, although nurses put her to bed because of exhaustion. Everyday Maria continue's to regain her strength and slowly leaves her weak state. "Go Go Go Go!" Maria said as she was rushing down the hallway with Nagato right next to her. The cafeteria bell rang, as Nagato and Maria's fast walk turned into an exteremly rushed pace. "Quick! We dont want to be the last ones there! By this rate we will get the cold food!" Nagato said as he began to walk even faster.

Maria and Nagato came to a door that was blocked by wheelchairs, and body-carts. "Ahh.. Take a left!" Maria said as she lead Nagato down a narrow hallway that connected to the main hallway once again.

When Maria and Nagato arrived they saw that the cafeteria was completely empty. They smiled at the cooks as they beckoned the two children over for a serving a food.

"Now you two darlings be good!" The elderly cook said as she put a scoop of baked potatoes and boiled rice on the kids' trays. Maria and Nagato had their trays piled with food, their hungry and weak bodies starved.

Their trays were stacked with roasted lamb, with garlic sauce. Boiled rice cakes with bits of fried seaweed for extra flavor. And a bowl of vegetable curry.

A young boy named Kentaarza sat by them, and also a young girl named Sabrina sat across from them. "Hi guys" Sabrina said towards Nagato, Maria, and Kentaarza. "Mmmm, I am so hungry today, especially because of working out today." Kentaarza said. "Working out? What do you mean, your in a hospital!" Maria said to Kentaarza while staring grosly and Nagato who rudely inhaled his food.

"Yea, my assistant Jounin is trying to assist me in strengthening myself once again, it was really hard, considering I sat in bed and watched the birds by the window for three weeks." Kentaarza said as he looks at his bandaged up wrist.

Lunch was over and Maria and Nagato were holding on to eachothers weak frames and tried to walk back. Not long before they left the cafeteria doors, their medical jounins walked exteremly close behind them. Holding the children against their legs, making sure that they wouldn't fall over.

When Maria entered her room, she stumbled but was caught and steadied by her medical Jounin, who brought her to and into her bed. Maria was very weak and exhausted, and in frusteration she looked up at her medical Jounin who stand by the bed and looked seriously down at her. "Am I ever going to be strong again?" Maria asked the Jounin who hesitantly replied, "You will, but in order to be strong, you must rest." the Jounin said as he puffed her pillow and walked out of the room.

Maria began to follow the patterns in the ceiling then dosed off in the sunlit room.

It doesn't show it yet, you aren't going to be Makikage at age like... well, really young.

In this storyline im only 7 years old.

In a year, a lot more characters from the forum will start to appear.

~~~~~~First Day of Ninja School!~~~~~~
-10 months later-

"Aren't you excited for the first day of school?" Nagato said excitedly. "Yea, I am. But im nervous to see if our teacher is an awsome jounin, or an elderly jounin..." Maria replied. "Well im pumped, I can finally learn to use jutsus so I can kick your butt Maria." Nagato said, "I will need competition to become strong". "Well then Nagato, think me as... your rival!" Maria said.

Maria and Nagato walked up to the door to the classroom. Nagato slid open the door and walked behind Maria to enter the classroom.

When they enter the classroom, there are about fifty-percent of the seats occupied. Maria and Nagato found and empty desk, and sat by eachother in the double seater.

Sitting in the front of the class were the olders kids, they were about three years older then Maria and Nagato.

The sliding door opened, and out came the masculine arm. The jounins legs were entering. Maria and Nagato were bouncing in their seats with excitement to see who it was. The Jounin entered and looked over for a quick glance at Maria and Nagato. To their surprise it was Kakashi. Maria was so happy with her teacher this year, until something ruined it. A rude voice blurted out, "Are you really our teacher? Thats awsome!!" A voice int he crowd said. "Nope!" Kakashi said, that made Maria and Nagato's proud humor turn into an ambidextrous flat grin. "I just dropped my keys to enter my mailbox" Kakashi said as he bent over and picked up a small key. Kakashi walked out.

"I was so excited but then it had to not be true!" Maria said in a loud tone. She was so loud that the whole entire class stopped in dead silence as they all frightfully turned their heads to the imperial Maria.

Once Maria noticed that several heads were facing her, she blushed and said in a shy voice, "Ahh.... Hi..." while she scratched the back of her head and slowely sat down in her seat. She felt like she wanted to disappear.

"What was that!" Nagato strongly whispered to Maria. There was no reply from the embarassed Maria. They were interrupted by three shadows standing by Nagato's side of the desk.

"Hey newcomer, I see you have quite an attitude!" The tall older girl said to Maria. "Well, umm.... yea..." Maria said in a good humor.

"Look at her, she is like a little rabitt, begging for its life." A boy said who was behind the girl. "HEY WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME!" Maria said as she flew out of her seat. She had wide vicious eyes, and imaginary flames surrounded her as she screamed the teenagers into a corner.

The three teenagers were cowering, but laughing at the same time. "Dang..." one of the boys said as the hip-hop gang walked off. Another girl came up, "Tsk Tsk Tsk" the girl said to Maria. "You have to learn not to disrespect the older kids, or else they wont help you! And you'll fail..." The girl said while whistling innocently.

"What do you mean, Who are you?" Maria said

"Me?" The girl said while pointing to herself, "Im Sango Uzunirah, I have met almost all the newcomers here. See, over there, her name is Kelsey. She is one of the last of the Naimi Clan." Sango said while pointing at a girl chatting with a familar face, Kentaarza. The Naimi clan, Maria thought in her head. After all this time she forgot about her mother and father. Her mother was one of the last of the Naimi clan. "Kelsey is one of my cousins!" Maria blurted out.

Nagato and Sango were left blank and speechless and the sudden outbreak. "Oh...kay.... then." Nagato said stubbornly.

Finally the class was interrupted by the door leading into the classroom opened. The person stepped in, it was a Male Jounin of course. It was Iruka. "Hello class!" Iruka said with a fake smile as he walked into the room.

"I want you all to introduce yourself, by just saying your name. You, on the right, begin." Iruka said as he pointed to a small boy. "Well, my name is Wolfriegn Inuzuka" the boy said shyly.

Iruka pointed to the next kid, "My name is Hazirami Retsu" the boy said, "So its true about the eyes?" Iruka said but then immediatly cut him off and pointed to the next table where two were sharing a seat. "My name is Cecil Swandr" "And my name is Maisy Hernandez" "And my name is Lloyd Fin-gre" The last one said, making sure to show the long vowel at the end. "And my name is Zarrof Zhao" the very last kid at the table said.

"These kids seem strange." Iruka thought inside his head. "Next!" He said aloud.

Many children passed until it was Maria's turn. "Well, my name Is Maria Konoshi" She said smiling.

"So its true, the Konoshi still lives." Iruka thought hardly inside his head. "This will be interesting"

Iruka did not teach the class anything today, but merely told them of the supplies they need.

"You guys need to bring a ink quil to write with, everything else I will supply you with." Iruka said to the class. "So that is all we need?" A child in the class asked, "Yes that is all you need, tomorrow we will learn. And you will take a short test to begin with." Iruka replied.

The class day was over.

"That was so much fun, to sit in that wooden desk. To see the Jounin and have them teach us!" Maria said excitedly. "I cant wait until tomorrow..." Nagato said sarcastically, reffering to the test tomorrow. "Oh yea, I hope its easy. And I hope I pass."

Maria and Nagato went home, as they said their goodbyes to everybody they met and left.

~~~~~Brawl at the Library!~~~~~

-3 years later-

It was about seven'o clock at night. Maria, Nagato, and Aigoro were in the Konoha public library surrounded by other assorted people of different ages. Many kids from their class were there.

"I found it." Maria said as she flopped a large book on the table, which startles Aigoro and Nagato. "I finally found it, the book on the previous hokages!" Maria said as she flipped the ancient manuscripted book to its glossary to view the table of contents.

Maria rolled her finger down the ancient paper until she came to a sentence, she held her hand down, and flipped the heavy pages to a specific page.

"Awww" Nagato and Aigoro said at the same time as they crowded around to look at the book. "The first hokage, and all of his statistics." Maria said as she pointed to some writing off to the side of the page. In the middle of the page was a picture of the first hokage, with his data and information, and also his hokage robe.

"He.... he died to defend his people.... the leaf village." Nagato said softly to Maria and Aigoro as they stared deeply into the worn pages of the book.

"He must have loved this village dearly." Maria said, "Look! He was only about 40 years old!" Aigoro blurted out, but was interrupted by shushes of people in the background. "He was very young" Aigoro said softer.

"Nagato, get out a piece of paper, and write this down." Maria said, as she repeated words to Nagato.

"Now keep ahold of that, thats important, it determines if we pass the test or not." Maria said to Nagato and she beckoned him and Aigoro to leave the library.

When they stepped foot of the cement stairs, somone else came up from behind them. "Determines if you pass? eh?" the person said as they emerged from the darkness. It was Kyubi. "I want that information, and I dont know where you hid that book. I know you three want to win that test tomorrow, but I cannot allow that. I am going to have to take all three of you down and take that information." Kyubi said as he slowly charged at the three children. Another figure emerged out of the darkness to move alongside of Kyubi, who revealed to be Yume.

"What is going on!" Maria said as she scooted back. Nagato panicked as he hid the scroll of paper.

Kyubi was about to reach Nagato until Aigoro jumped in the way. Nagato jumped back in fear, but Aigoro was thrown heavily straight unto his back. "Aigoro!" Maria cried as she threw a rock at Kyubi, hitting him in the arm. Kyubi grabbed his arm, and ran towards Maria.

"Comon Maria! Come on! Remember!" She thought to herself, trying to flash back to the training of squad 7. In the corner of her eye she saw a figure in orange clothing, Naruto. He stood there and watched. "I have to act quickly! I am being watched." Maria said as she hesitated, but ducked under the path of Kyubi's raging fist.

With her right arm she grabbed Kyubi's fist, and with her left arm she grabbed his thigh. With a lot of her strength she threw Kyubi over her shoulders and onto his back.

But she was not paying attention, Yume was right on to her. Already he was punching at her. But it was too late.

Maria was sent flying through the air and landed a distance away on her back, clashing on to the cement sidewalk.

Nagato ran up from behind Yume, and grabbed his arms. Putting him in an arm-lock. But Yume did a backflip over Nagato, still holding his arms. He kicked him in the back and threw Nagato on his face.

Nagato did a front hand spring, and spun around for a spinning punch to Yume's jaw.

But somone stopped them. It was Naruto, "I wanted to watch what you guys could do, but it got out of control." He said as he dropped his tight grip on Yume's and Nagato's fist.

"But! He was..." Nagato said, "Just leave it!" Naruto said as he walked away.

Aigoro, Maria, and Nagato regrouped quickly, a disappeared into the night.

"That was close" Maria said shakily as she looked out of the academy window. "To close then I wanted" Nagato finished for her. Aigoro sat silently looking at the ground.

Later that night Aigoro left for his room. "Nagato, do you want to spend the night here?" Maria asked Nagato. "Sure, why not" Nagato replied nicely. They went to bed.

~~~~~~The Test!~~~~~~~

Maria sat in her desk. She though to herself, what would happen if I failed.. She repeated heavily in her mind. She was shocked by Nagato who was sitting in his desk right next to hers, because he was spinning a coin and slamming it on the desk.

Maria looked at Nagato with a weird facial expression. A little peice of crumpled up paper hit her in the head. It was Hazirami, he ran up to her desk and knealed on the ground.

"Did you study for the test?" Hazirami said impatiently as he pranced around with anxiety. "Well of course I did, it even got a little physical" Maria said as she thought back to when she was slammed into the cement by Kyubi. "Yea, I heard about that part!" Hazirami said, "Anyways!" Hazirami said once again. "Did you have any questions...?" Maria said to Hazirami while glaring at him. Hazirami seemed to turn real small, "No nothing!" He said and ran back to his seat, where he panted heavily.

Iruka walked in with a big, thick stack of papers. Everyone dismissed their social groups and sprinted back to their seats. "The final test! And you are out of this academy!" Iruka said as he walked by and tapped a desk hard, where Kelsey and Kentaarza were sleeping.

"Today is your final test! Already it has been three years, children. And your grade will graduate!" Iruka said. Maria jumped up in glee, and was accompanied by all the other kids her age. "Trust me... It just gets harder..." Sango said to Maria as she turned back around in her seat and began writing again.

Iruka started walking down the rows, handing kids their papers. When he set a paper on Maria's desk, it already had her name on it. It had her birthday, where she lives, almost everything.

"You may begin your test." Iruka said as he sat down at his desk and began looking through some papers.

"This is so easy!" Maria said as she flew through the test, in the corner of her eye she saw Nagato also flying through the test. They looked at eachother, and began racing throug the test. Maria and Nagato finished the test after a long 25 minutes and done with the 13 pages. They both stood up and sped walk down the stairs to Iruka's desk, "Done!" They both said simultaneously.

Iruka was confused as he looked at the two who were glaring at eachother. Iruka took the papers and looked back down at his work. When they were walking back, Nagato whispered to Maria antagonistically, "I won...". Maria was in rage, but was shushed by the jounin. Maria walked back to her desk gloomly as she looked at Hazirami who was about to finish.

Maria was so bored sitting in her desk, several times she almost fell asleep. Sango left hours ago, and Maria finished over thirty minutes ago. Maria dosed off into a nightmare.

"Mom! Dad!" Maria called out into the open vast, white world. She was shook by Nagato. When she was looking up at Nagato, he looked back at her. He knew what she was thinking about. "Just let it go, they will come back." Nagato said to Maria and then continued playing with his coin.

-Next Day-

Iruka said, "I have all the tests corrected, and this determines if you can become a Gennin.". Iruka handed out the test, Iruka handed Maria her test. "A-" Maria cried out in victory, she turned her head to see Nagato's was the same exact score.

There was only one person who failed, and will have to retake the test. All of you, remember to come back tomorrow. Tomorrow you will meet your Senseis!

The whole class jumped up in glee.

~~~~Sensei~~~~

Maria, Kelsey, and Karon were walking on the path towards the academy. "Where is Nagato, Maria?" Karon asked as she brushed her hand in a nearby bush. "He went with some other friends, he told me he would meet me half way.

"Aren't you a little scared to meet you sensei? I mean... what if he was a jerk?" Kelsey said while looking at Karon and Maria. "Well, I am just a little. But I am excited to just see who it is." Maria said, "I agree with what Maria said, I am hoping I get a handome guy on my team, maybe like... Yume" Karon said, while all three of them dosed of thinking about some cute boys.

"Maria! dont leave me, you walked way ahead of me!" Nagato said while catching his breath.

They arrived at the academy. Maria sat in her desk. Three jounin stood in the middle of the room, and Iruka and the Hokage were by the desk. "Wait, where is the fourth sensei." Kelsey said aloud. The Hokage sighs and says, "Kakashi, always late...". "Not to worry lord Hokage, he is in the building." A man to the side said. Kakashi's masculine hand slid open the door, and he stepped in and stood by the three other jounin.

The Hokage walked up into the middle of the room and talked to the children. "My young children of the Leaf Village, I know you all worked so hard to achieve this. These Jounin will call out their students name, I want you to go up to the front of the class and stand by them.

The first person was Kurenai Yuuhi. She took out a piece of paper and began calling out names. "Hazirami Retsu" Hazirami ran up and stood beside Kurenai, "Karon Rosewater, and Wolfreign Inuzuka".

The second person was Kakashi Hatake. He took out his piece of paper, cleared his throat and said, "Kelsey Naimi" Kelsey sprinted to the front of the class, and sat cross legged on Kakashi's foot. "Kentaarza Retsu and Gan Ning" The two children walked up and stood by Kakashi.

Gai already had his team of KaiRai Haruo, Kyubi, and Yume.

Asuma stood up, he took out his piece of paper. "Nagato Fujibyashi, Aigoro Kurowashi" The two boys ran over to Asuma. Maria pleaded for the last person to be her. "Maria Konoshi" Asuma said as he looked up at her right away.

"So the Konoshi girl still lives" Kakashi said in his head as he eyed Maria when she carefully walked down the steps.
"This will be interesting" Kurenai said in her head.

Maria stopped right in front of Asuma and looked up. She looked up at him, Asuma towered over her. He used his hand to take Maria in and pull her by him, by the other kids.

The other jounin called out the other kids names.

Asuma and the other sensei's were walking out, leading their children to seperate spots. Asuma was talking to Kakashi, they were talking quietly so Maria couldn't hear. At the same time Kakashi and Asuma both looked back at her then turned around again. Maria knew that they were talking about her, so she talked with some of her friends, trying to forget about the conversation ahead.

"Okay children" Asuma said, "What do you mean how?" Aigoro said. "Well, your name, hobbies, dreams for the future, stuff like that".

"Well, maybe you should go first, and introduce yourself. So we can see how it is like." Nagato said to Asuma.

"Im Asuma Sarutobi, as for my hobbies.. I have lots of hobbies, and I really haven't thought about the future." Asuma said to the three kids.

"That was pointless, all he really told us was his name..." Maria said to Aigoro and Nagato. "Okay, you on the left, you go first." Asuma said while pointing at Nagato.

"Well, my name is Nagato Fujibyashi! My hobby is to hang out with a lot of my friends, and my dreams for the future is to make a lot of friends!" Nagato said. Asuma looked at Nagato weird then asked Maria to go.

"Im Maria Konoshi, what my hobby is to gossip with other girls! And my dream for the future is to become rich and famous!" Maria cried out, as she looked up to the sky with her hands in the air.

"My name.... is Aigoro Kurowashi" He said while pushing up his glasses. "My hobby is to learn new things. And my dreams for the future is to discover new jutsus and cures for diseases."

"Nerd..." Maria and Nagato both said unison under their breath.

"Good. Your all unique.

"Out of the twenty-seven students that graduated, only nine will actually become Gennin. The other 18 will be weeded out and sent back to the academy. Otherwise, this is a make it or break it, pass or fail test. And the chance that you will fail is at least sixty-six percent."

We will start training tomorrow. And let me tell you, you might not want to eat breakfast. Or else... you'll puke." Asuma said while the three kids stood in shock."

"You are dismissed."

~~~~First Day of Training~~~~

It was 5 A.M. and the three children, Nagato, Maria, and Aigoro were arriving at the set spot.

Maria was rubbing her eyes yawning lightly, Nagato was yawning very heavy, and Aigoro had no yawning. They saw in the distance three other figures. When the people got close, they saw it was Kentaarza, Kelsey, and Gan Ning.

"Wha.. Why are you here?" Kelsey asked in a snotty tone. "Well because our sensei told us to meet here." Aigoro pointed out. "Shutup you nerd!" Kelsey yelled towards Aigoro while holding up her fist.

Nagato was sitting on the ground, while Maria and Aigoro were standing. The two groups were quiet.

Asuma and Kakashi arrived at the same time.

"Hey your late!" all six Gennin said at the same time. "What's going on here, why is Kakashi's group here also." Maria asked Asuma. "Well... We decided to test our groups together. Kakashi told me he wanted to try this, and I agreed."

"Okay, your assignment is very simple. You must take these bells from me. And if you dont, you will be tied to those posts" Kakashi said while pointing at tree stumps, and another three looked like they were brand new. "And you wont eat lunch, and you will watch us eat our lunch in front of you." Asuma said.

"Wait, you two both only have four bells, and there are six of us?" Maria said.

"Well that means automatically, two people will automatically be disqualified for failure to complete the mission. Or else all of you can go back to the academy." Kakashi said.

"I hope you all use what you have learned from the academy, and Kentaarza, you must think hard from your recent shotr-term memory loss." Asuma said

No, I am not going to lose Maria though in her head. I will look like a idiot if I lose! People are going to look up to me! Nagato though in his head. Aigoro said nothing but clenched his fists.

"Ready? And start!" Kakashi and Asuma said while the six Gennin all jumped in different directions.

All the Gennin were in different locations, hidden in the forst. Nagato came up beside Maria. "How are we going to do this?" Nagato asked Maria, "Well, I dont know. Ask the genius." Maria said, while Aigoro jumped up onto the branch they were all on.

"Maybe we should all try and run from different directions. And try to snatch the bells, and give them to the team." Aigoro said, "Heck no! We dont want that other team to graduate! We want to show Asuma that we are the best..." Maria said while looking devious with Nagato.

"Fine, we dont have to snatch them all, just make sure we have enough for our squad" Aigoro said.

Just then, they saw Gan Ning charging from a bush and heading straight for Asuma. Kentaarza yelled out, "Gan! Are you stupid! stop!". But Gan ignored Kentaarza and kept running towards the two jounins.

It wasn't long before two kunai's with wire, wrapped Gan up and pin him to the ground. And Kentaarza was already fleeing, trying to disappear once again. Kelsey and Kentaarza ran in opposite directions.

Aigoro was about to jump down and go for the bell. But was stopped by Nagato. "No, it isn't time yet. They are still ungaurd, I can sense it." Nagato said. Nagato was looking through Kakashi and Asuma, seeing what their tension level was. But something happened, Kakashi knew that he was being examined by Nagato. Kakashi used some weird Genjutsu that drove Nagato insane and paralyzed him. "Wh... Wha... What is going on!" Nagato said.

"Shhh, try to be quiet. Your all right Nagato." Maria said while Aigoro tried to shush him. "Kakashi's will power is too strong for you Nagato, even for a retsu who is still yet to learn." Aigoro said wisely as he once again watched the two jounin.

But the two jounin were gone, not even in sight. Nagato recovered.

"Blast! That was clever of them, they used that as a distraction so they could move." Aigoro said as he pounded his fist against the tree. Towards the middle of the field, in a tall tree. They could see Kelsey tied up almost at the top.

"Oh no, Kelsey! I cant just let her fail, we have to help h..." Maria said but was stopped by Nagato. "If you try and get her, you will give away our location. Gan Ning was still tied up in the middle of the field. And in the distance they heard a yelp from Kentaarza. Maria became tense as she griped the bark of the tree tightly.

"We have to help them, Aigoro, you find Kentaarza but keep a low profile. Nagato, you try and get Gan Ning out, but try to hide your presence, as for me... I will get Kelsey." Maria said as she looked up at the height of the tall tree. Meet back here in five minutes; if you dont appear in that amount of time, we will come looking for you. Break!" Maria said as she jumped off into the dark dense forest.

Maria ran through the forest, steadfast and quiet. She jumped from limb to limb. Maria reached the tree Kelsey was tied too. She jumped to the ground and walk to the trunk of the gargantuas tree. "Here goes nothing." Maria said, guessing if the time was right.

Maria transferred her chakra into her feet, and started running up the tree. She ran and ran, the tree seemed to be endless. Maria felt exhausted and looked up to see Kelsey still twice as high. Maria rested on a sturdy branch for only seconds until she started running up again.

Maria was very high, almost to the point where she could see over all the other trees. But it was quiet, too quiet. Maria sensed something was over her, watching her like a prey. A shiver went down her spine. Maria was once again exhausted, she sat down on a sturdy branch looking down at the far away ground, she sat looking outward.

Maria reached the top, and let the chakra leave her feet to enter her hands. She was extremly low on her chakra power. "Wha... What are you doing? He is going to get you!" Kelsey said quietly to Maria while half crying because of failure. "No he isn't, I didn't even see anyone." Maria said as she cut through the wire with a kunai, Kelsey looked very happy. "Thank you, I owe you." Kelsey said as she jumped off the tree into another tree."
Maria, exhausted, sat down. She was shaking and wanted to get down but did not have the strength. "Maria... behind you..." a voice called to Maria. Maria froze in horror as she looked back to see Asuma standing right over her looking at her in the face.

Nagato was hidden under a thick bush. "Psst... Gan Ning!" Nagato called, but Gan Ning did not respond. Nagato decided it was time, he quickly got up from under the bush and booked it to Gan Ning. He pulled out a kunai and slid to kneel right next to Gan Ning. Gan Ning was on his stomach, so Nagato tried to flip him over. Nagato heard Maria scream, he quickly flippped Gan onto his back, Nagato saw that it was not Gan. A cruel sense dripped down him, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up.

"Hi there" a voice said. Nagato slowly looked up to see Kakashi standing right over him, looking down at him.

Aigoro was running through the forest. He saw Kentaarza walking back and forth like he was drunk. "Kentaarza!" Aigoro called as he ran towards him. When he reached Kentaarza he saw that he was put out with a sleeping bomb. Aigoro snapped him out of it, and talked to him, "Has your team gotten any bells yet? Please tell me you have". "We never even came close" Kentaarza said, as he swept the dirt off his pants.

The buzzer rang, everybody headed towards the main area where the wood posts were. Nagato, Maria and Aigoro found eachother and walked by eachother. "I guess this is the end of the road." Aigoro said sadly, "I just wished I would have been able to learn more". "If only we could have gotten a bell." Nagato said as he looked down at the ground, and looked as if he was about to cry. "Not to worry." Maria said as she pulled out of her pocket, two shining bells. "But there are only two, who are you going to give it to Maria?" Aigoro asked her.

"Well, ill just give them both to you guys.." Maria said gloomily and disappointedly. They arrived at the area where Asuma was awaiting them and the other three gennin. Kakashi arrived a tad later than they did.

"Well, if you have any bells. Please bring them forward." Kakashi said. Nagato and Aigoro proudly showed their bells to the Jounin senseis as they walked up to them.

"Squad seven? Tell me, why do you think you haven't gotten any bells?" Kakashi asked. "Well, because they had everything planned and I screwed everything up." Gan Ning said, admitting to his sensei.

"And Maria why dont you have a bell?" Asuma asked Maria. "Because... Because... I just wasn't strong enough." Maria said but was almost intterupted by Kakashi. "You have faith in your team Maria, and you put them ahead of yourself. And your squad did an excellent job helping other people that were in need. I saw you gave your bells to Nagato and Aigoro." Kakashi said to Maria, who was looking at the ground with a gloomy face.

"And squad seven, You did a great job. I heard what you planned, and Gan. I am proud that you would protect your friends, by taking fault." Asuma said.

"You all pass." Asuma and Kakashi said.

"Lets go home." Asuma said to his swuad as he put his arms around 'his' gennin. And walked home with Kakashi's second passing squad.

~~~~Week, before the chunnin exams!~~~~

"I wonder why Asuma told us to meet at the fountain." Maria said as she kicked a small pebble on the path. "It could be some training!" Nagato said with a smile as he lurched in front of Maria and kicked the pebble away. Maria pushed Nagato over. "Now comon guys!" Aigoro said looking over his book and pushing up his glasses.

Maria and Nagato looked at Aigoro speechless. The three gennin arrived at the center of Konoha. The fountain. Asuma was already there waiting for them.

"Come over here, and have a seat." Asuma said as he pointed to the side of the fountain.

Aigoro and Nagato sat on the side leaning against the cement sidewalk while Maria sat on the slab. Maria flowed her hands in the fresh cold water.

"The reason I had you come here is because of the chunnin exams." Asuma said. "The chunnin exams? Already?" Aigoro said while stacking a couple of rocks in front of him.

"Yes. Already. Tomorrow it will start. That is why I want you to meet me in the gym hall where the fighting tournament will rehearse." Asuma said.

"This test isn't like your academy or gennin test. This one is much harder. There will be people twice or size and age. But you will be put against good competition in the fighting." Asuma said, "All right. Your dismissed." Asuma said as he turned around and threw his fingers in the air.

The next morning Maria woke up. The bright white room blinded her. She was so relaxed as she layed in her cotton sheeted bed with her arms outstreched under the pillow. She gave a small sighing below as she pushed herself to get up.

Maria yawned as she looked out the window. Everywhere was quiet and empty.

Maria looked at her flip clock. It was six in the morning. Maria stood up and streched her arms as she slipped on her bunny slippers. She walked over to her bathroom. Slid open the sliding door and into the her bathroom that was flourished with many different plant life.

She walked over to a bowl with a pump which was her sink and splashed herself in the face with cold water. Maria filled the bowl with her fresh soft cold water. With an unstoppable ease she pressed her lips against the water and began drinking the water. Irresistably she drank more and more until she wanted to stop.

I can't stop. If I want to be better I can't! Maria thought to herself. She drank the hole bowl of water and said to herself, "There wont be any dehydration on my exercise." She collapsed in exhaustion of lack of oxygen.

She pulled herself up on the shower bar and stood up straight. She walked into her bedroom and stripped off her sleeping gown and kicked off her bunny slippers.

She opened a sliding closet and pulled out her original vanilla caprees and her brown sweatshirt. She rolled up her sleaves and tied them with bands and slipped her silver embroidered vest on. She walked to a small box and pulled out two ankle weights of about 300 pounds. She slipped the original Naruto shoes on.

She breathed out heavily and ran out the door to the path where she began running.

The morning air was cool on her skin and felt refreshing. The grass had a slight layer of morning dew spread upon it as it bristled in a soft gentle morning wind.

She ran at a strong fast pace for about and hour and a half. She ran around the village three times. Sweat was pouring off of her face and she was shaking in exhaustion. The weights were giving her a rash. The sweat froze to the side of her head from the morning coldness.

Maria ran and started to sing to herself. Trying to sing away the pain. She ran by and slightly noticed Kakashi sitting and relaxing in a tree. She sensed him, she stopped and looked back into the tree which he was sitting in but found noone.

She clenched her teeth and gave a small growl and turned herself around to continue running.

Eventually the sun was starting to come up. It slowly warmed the Leaf Village. The dew on the grass blades glistened like diamonds in the sun.

Maria was so tired from running, just like and ordinary day of morning running. She collapsed onto her knees and kneeled with her face down in the dirt. Sweat poured off of her face and out of her hair.

Just maybe a mile more...! Pull... yourself together! Maria thought to herself as she pulled herself up back on to her feet. She fell over again and began to lightly cry in frusteration. But it was decipated by the heavy sweating pouring off her forehead.

Maria watched the sweat off her forehead perculate into the overran soil which she kneels on. She collapsed on her stomach and gave a small, hefty, tired bellow. She threw up in her mouth but managed to keep it from coming out.

She rolled unto her back to find Asuma, her sensei standing directly over her. His feet were up into her arm pits. He looked down at her with a happy face, "Tired?" Asuma asked her.

Maria tried to say something but all that came out was a mumble. Asuma put his finger to her mouth, "You have done enough for now." He said to her.

Maria vision went blurry as she passed out. When she awoke she found herself back in her bed, with the scratches and scars from her training that morning.

Asuma was still by her bedside. He put his hand on her forehead and put her back to sleep. She heard Nagato's voice and Aigoro's voice, and for some reason she heard Kakashi's voice.

"She is very sick. And might not be able to participate in the chunnin exams." Kakashi said to Asuma who was still looking at Maria.

"I will not give in. I wont give... up" Maria said with a slight pause from pain as she sat up in her bed. Everyone was surprised to see that she could still talk. Nagato was sad. "I will be better..." Maria said as she was interrupted by a wet rag was placed on her head and was layed gently on to her pillow by a medical ninja.

Maria managed to look out of the corner of her eye to see Kakashi and Asuma's partial squad.

~~~~Nagato's close rivalry~~~~

Maria lay in her bed. Focusing on the upcoming chunnin exams. She played with a little doll in her hand. Outside she heard some kids and clinging. Maria sat up to peer over the windowsill. Nagato was out in the courtyard with Asuma walking off to go train. "Asuma is really favoring Nagato..." Maria said to herself.

Maria's grip tightened, until she crushed the doll in her hand, the dolls head popped off. "I will show him." Maria said with her teeth clenching.

Maria walked out of her room, got on her everyday clothes and walked to the front of the condo's where Nagato was seen with Asuma. Maria saw the two walking in the distance. Maria was frusterated as she saw them talking, laughing.

Maria picked up a large rock in her hand. "Im going to show you!" Maria said as she crushed the rock in her hand.

The chunnin exams are already a week from tomorrow. Maria thought to herself. A good chance to outshine Nagato Maria thought to herself as she ran off.

Maria was in a courtyard with heavy cemented rock. Maria was wearing a silk outfit with purple ribbon and soft comfy mocasins. It was empty and Maria stood in the middle. A soft breeze blew on Maria as she threw her arms in different directions, performing her Tai-Chi-Quan fighting style. She was starting to end as she held her leg up with her arm on top of it, the wind blew her blonde bangs off of her forehead. She brought her leg down quick, and there was a thrash.

Maria sent her slippered foot nine inches into the cemented stone, shattering the marbulated surface. "This time I will prevail over Nagato."
