Kagebunshin is only ranked B because of the amount of chakra it draws... so why dont we just let go of Jutsu ranking and make it some other mechanic to find out how much chakra a jutsu costs?

No more 5, 15, 30, 40 crap.

FYI, there are two rankings on Kagebushin, B-rank is the limited chakra pull one that is restricted to 3 or 4 clones and has the safty limiter. S-ranked is the unlimited version of the same jutsu. The B-rank is the only "taught" one to the select few and the S-ranked one is found on the scroll. When the series first showed the two there was no difference in the names and later on they seperated them by calling one "Shadow Clone Jutsu" and the other one "Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu". However it seems not to have lasted long or is only a prefrence if one wishes to use it since they refer to the same basic jutsu with the only difference the safty feature.

Second, I am fine with removing the chakra cap based on rank....however...that does speak of needing a set way os describing the difficulty of a jutsu. Part of the ranking of a jutsu is the difficulty of shaping/forming the chakra into the jutsu, part of it is the destructiveness of it, but also another part is the possible danger it represents to the user and the area/noncombat people around it.

Like you only are made to pay chakra after you know how much damage you have caused...

I don't belive so because now you are penalizing a person for being able to do that amount of damage. Certain damage caps might be a better idea so as to force the players to use a different jutsu if they want a greater damage range, but link the cap to their level.

I posted this on another thread, just wanted your opinion;

Damage done by each jutsu level has a cap on itself. Caps are as follows;

D-rank = 25 damage cap
C-rank = 50 damage cap
B-rank = 75 damage cap
A-rank = 100 damage cap
S-rank = no cap

If a D-rank jutsu damage exceeds 25 damage resulting potential damage, that player may choose to pay as much chakra more to compinsate damage. Example;

Taijutsu combo makes 40 damage. Player pays 5 chakra more to damage target the entire 40 damage. If he does not, he would have only damaged target 25 damage.

hmm, don't like having to pay for the extra damage....was thinking of a sliding cap almost like:

D-Rank = 20 + Lvl in damage
C-Rank = 40 + 2*Lvl in damage
B-Rank = 60 + 3*Lvl in damage
A-Rank = 80 + 4*Lvl in damage
S-Rank = no cap

That way the higher level person does have something to show for especially if we are doing away with having set Chakra Costs per Rank.

+ level, meaning if your level is 15, then its 35 cap for D-rank?

upon further annalisys, I think it would be more practical to make it x2 for each level

meaning;

D-Rank = 15 x Lvl in damage
C-Rank = 20 x Lvl in damage
B-Rank = 25 x Lvl in damage
A-Rank = 30 x Lvl in damage
S-Rank = no cap
